We are very interested in young people and want to see them grow
in the knowledge and likeness of Jesus Christ (II Peter 3:18).
During Sunday Morning Bible Study, our 3rd through 6th grade age
group enjoy studying the Life of Christ and the Book of Acts in one of our two special Learning Centers.
On Sunday evening at 5:45, 2nd grade and younger age goups are encouraged to join the "Pew
Packers" to participate in age appropriate teaching designed to promote memory skills through Bible Verses, songs and
narratives.
We strive to train our youth in leadership
qualities (Proverbs 22:6)
with an active Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes program and we encourage our
young men, 6th grade and under, to lead songs, read the Bible and lead prayer during our
Wednesday night devotional period. Our Christian young men, 7th grade and above are encouraged to
participate in all aspects of our worship services.
So that our young people can get together for home devotional's,
fellowships and entertainment designed for different age levels, we offer them an opportunity to be
active in one of three aged related groups. All three groups enjoy their individual "JAM" (Jesus And Me)
Sessions... a devotional scheduled after Sunday Evening Worship and hosted by volunteer members of the
congregation in their homes. JAM sessions include singing, a short devotional, discussion of upcoming
events, eating and hanging out with friends. JAM Sessions have been held on boat docks with the sun
setting in the background, in pastures with a campfire and a full moon lighting the area, and in many
family rooms and basements.

Retreats & Social Events:
In addition to JAM Sessions, we encourage our young people to
participate in age appropriate retreats and social events. We strive to have Quarterly Bible Building
Weekends or Retreats and attend the annual Challenge
Youth Conference (CYC), held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. At CYC our young people spend Friday thru
Sunday with thousands of Christian teens that share the same goals; growing closer to God and to other
Christian teens. Other retreats have included: Camp Cosby, Camp Hargis, Bear Creek Educational Center,
and Camp Maywood. Regular social events include parties, a Family Fall Fun Festival, Whitewater Rafting,
local area AAA baseball games, our own Drive-In Movies, LASER tag, Miniature Golf, and a variety of other
off-site activities.

Summer Mission Trips:
Every summer our high school youth (the ACT's Group), embark on
a mission trip which has included anything from construction work, clean up work, delivering gospel meeting
invitations door to door, to leading a Vacation Bible School. Although a relatively young program, we realize
that the mission work provided helps our young people (and chaperones) as much, if not more, than the mission
church we are helping.
Past locations include Pahrump, Nevada; Janesville, Wisconsin; Marshalltown, Iowa;
Montequet, Louisiana; and many others. Ocean Springs, Mississippi (an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina) was
chosen for the 2006 and 2007 trips. The group helped in clean-up efforts coordinated by the Eastside Church of
Christ. Our group went back to Marshalltown, Iowa again in 2008 and conducted a VBS for East Point (Florida) church
of Christ in June, 2009.
